The photographs present scenes from camp life, and have been arranged in series according to the subject matter. Most of the collection consists of portraits of the refugees; photographs also record the educational and cultural activity of disabled war veterans, the activity of the medical corps, artists’ work, publications, cultural events, and an exhibition of Yugoslav folk art and crafts held in Cairo in late 1944. Some of the photographs show the El Shatt cemetery and individual graves. Specific sections of the camp are also shown.
The collection has been recorded digitally for the purpose of its preservation.
